About VEDEK
The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Educational Institutions and Programs of Veterinary Medicine (VEDEK) is an independent external quality assurance and accreditation body established to ensure the quality of undergraduate veterinary medical education in Türkiye. Authorized by the Higher Education Quality Council of Türkiye (YÖKAK), VEDEK conducts its evaluation processes using criteria aligned with the Turkish Qualifications Framework and the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

VEDEK Accreditation Process of Our Faculty
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Aydın Adnan Menderes University was accepted as a member of VEDEK in 2016 and received national accreditation in the same year. In line with the quality evaluation process carried out by VEDEK, our Faculty is regularly reviewed in the areas of education and training, research, physical infrastructure, student services and quality management.

In May 2025, our Faculty hosted the second full VEDEK evaluation visit. Within this process, a comprehensive external review was conducted, contributing significantly to the institutional development of our Faculty. VEDEK National Accreditation of ADU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Renewed for Seven Years on 23 September 2025
The report regarding the evaluation visit carried out by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Educational Institutions and Programs of Veterinary Medicine (VEDEK) at Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADU) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine between 12–16 May 2025 was discussed at the VEDEK Accreditation Board (VAK) meeting held on 23 September 2025.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Cavit Kum, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Selim Sekkin, Chair of the Faculty Accreditation Committee. As a result of the evaluations, the national accreditation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was renewed and registered for a further period of seven years.

Commenting on the decision, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Prof. Dr. Cavit Kum thanked all academic and administrative staff and students who contributed to the process, stating:
“Alongside our current international EAEVE accreditation, the renewal of our national accreditation confirms that our Faculty remains firmly committed to educating competent veterinarians, strengthening its scientific research capacity and providing services for the benefit of society.”

 

Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent, emphasized that the success of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a significant achievement in terms of the overall vision of the university, and said:
“Our University continues on its path in line with the Research University vision, with a strong focus on quality assurance, sustainable academic development and internationalization. The renewal of the national accreditation of our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a concrete indicator of this vision. I would like to thank all our academic and administrative staff who contributed to this success. As ADU, we will continue to strengthen our research-based education approach and to contribute to our country and the scientific community.”
