Faculty of Agriculture

Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme Ana Bilim Dalı mezunları Ziraat Mühendisi olarak kamu ve özel sektörde görev yapabilmektedir. Gerekli sınavları verdikleri takdirde Tarım ve Köyişleri Bakanlığı, DSİ, Tarım İl ve İlçe Müdürlüklerinde, Belediyeler ile Dış Ticaret Müsteşarlığı gibi değişik kurumlarda yüksek mühendis olarak çalışabilecekleri gibi, özel sektörde gübre, ilaç, tohum, organik tarım, toprak-su-gübre laboratuvarlarında ve sertifikasyon gibi konularda çalışabilme imkanına sahiptirler. Ayrıca zirai danışmanlık yapabilme ve gıda kontrolü (fırın pastane vs. denetleme) olarak çalışma haklarına sahip olabileceklerdir.

Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme Bölümü 1992 yılında kurulmuş, 1999-2000 yılında lisans düzeyinde, 2003-2004 eğitim-öğretim yılında lisans düzeyinde ve 2009-2010 yılından bu yana da doktora düzeyinde eğitim verilmektedir.

Çalışma alanı ile ilgili konularda çağdaş ve uygulamaya yönelik bilgi ile donatılmış ve sorun çözme yeteneği gelişmiş, çevresine önderlik yapabilecek mesleki bilgi ve birikime ve iletişim becerisine sahip mühendisler yetiştirmeyi; araştırma ve uygulama işlevlerini yürüterek topluma hizmet yükümlülüğünü yerine getirmeyi, ulusunun gelişimi ve refahı için bilgiye ulaşımı ve bilgi yaymayı görev edinmiştir.

Yetiştirdiği mühendislerle ulusal ölçekte tanınan ve talep edilen, eğitim sistemi ve içeriği ile toprak bilimi ve bitki besleme alanındaki ulusal ve uluslararası normlara uyumluluk gösteren bir eğitim-öğretim kurumu olmaktır.

Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme Bölümünün amacı ülke ve bölgenin toprak ve tarımsal üretim ile ilgili sorunlarını çözmeye yönelik araştırmalar yürütmek, ülke tarımının gerçekleriyle uyumlu ve çalışma konularını özümsemiş, çağdaş bilgilerle donanmış Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme uzmanları yetiştirmektir.

Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme Anabilim dalı bünyesinde öğretim elemanlarının kullanımına ayrılmış 10 adet ofisin yanında 5 adet laboratuvar (genel amacı analiz laboratuvarı, bitki besleme toprak verimliliği laboratuvarı, toprak fiziği laboratuvarı, Uzaktan algılama laboratuvarı, ve toprak mikrobiyolojisi laboratuvarı) 1 adet toprak hazırlığı odası, 1 adet laboratuvarı iklimlendirme odası, 1 adet sera ve 1 adet elek evi mevcuttur. Bölüme ait herhangi bir derslik ve arazi bulunmamakta, fakültenin araştırma ve uygulama çiftliği arazisi ile yine fakültenin ortak kullanımındaki derslikler ihtiyaca göre tahsis edilmektedir.

Bölümde 3 profesör, 5 yardımcı doçent ve 3 araştırma görevlisi bulunmaktadır.

Agricultural Engineer

Total of 240 ECTS credits must be completed in order to graduate from the program. The courses at the first paragraph of article 5 of the 2547 Act (i) and basic courses in Information Technology are included in the courses. Courses in the first paragraph of Article 5 of Law No. 2547 of 11% of (i) the courses, 11% of the basic science courses, 28% of the basic engineering courses, vocational courses is 55%. 40 credits of technical elective courses is determined which corresponds to 40% of the total courses. Total of 123 hours of lecture, recitation sum is 56. Also in the internship must be fulfilled, including 45 business days. The all course in the program (240 ECTS credits) must be successfully completed. Student can participate activities such as participation of Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana exchange programmes.

Change and transitions between programs is carried out in accordance with the principles stated in the "Adnan Menderes University, and the Inter-Agency Internal Transfer Student, Double Major Program and Minor Program Directive".

The MSc Degree in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum in Adnan Menderes University, Institute of Natural Science, Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition.

The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are defined by Higher Education Council of Turkey. According to the rules and regulations student transfer is possible among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized. Also successful vocational school graduates can continue their education to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination). The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Adnan Menderes University and hence of the Department is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organised at the beginning of each year for the courses of Computer Skills and Foreign Languages. The students who had already completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.

Under qualification for graduation, students must have a weighted grade point average of at least 60 out of 100 and successfully complete all the requirements for each course.
