This course is to acquaint the midwifery division students with fundamental facts and concepts of fundemental midwifery and to familiarize them with the importance of knowing the fundamental principles of this field. It helps the students to gain knowledge and skills about basic concept, principles and methods related to midwifery care. The technical part of the lesson validates in skill laboratory and on a model.
OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of certain key concepts and principles fundamental to the practice of midwifery. This develops students’ capacity to comprehend the importance, position, role and functions of the discipline of midwife in the protection and improvement of the health of individuals, families and the society as well as its relations with the other disciplines concerning health. Emphasis on the wellness- illness continuum will lay the foundation for future study. The student is introduced to the midwifery process as a systematic method of problem solving in which effective communication and interpersonal relationships are central components. Instruction includes the development of critical thinking skills. This course has oriented the students who have already started studying midwifery to teach on main concepts of the occupation and professional principles and rules and methods and demonstration.

Objectives: The primary objectives of the course are to describe and examine current views of the structure and function of the human cells and tissues, and basic concepts of human embryology. Because birth defects are the leading cause of infant mortality and a major contributor to disabilities, and because new prevention strategies have been developed, understanding the principles of embryology is important for health care professionals. Objectives: The aim of this course is to introduce some main approaches to health and illness. In addition, it aims to show students that the concept of health and illness; and even the treatment to the illness cannot be understood only in terms of the biological approaches. In short, this course aims at forming sociological perspective to the concepts of health and illness.
Contents: History of Sociology of Health; Research Areas; Some Main Concepts (e.g. Health, Illness); Some Main Arguments and Approaches to Health and Illness; Social Factors behind Illness; Relationships between Health, Illness and Social, Economic, Cultural and Political Structures; Social Class, Inequalities and Health; Different Health Systems.

Objectives:
This course is focus on taking care of mother and newborn’s mental, physical and social health and in order to follow it, it is necessary to examine it in basic approach of health service and at so it is focus on to gain information and skill
Aim to the Course;
Learning Outcomes:
Students will obtain information about the public health problems in Turkey and in the World.
Students will be provided with an opportunity to participate in caring for clients in various health settings, including Home Care Nursing, as a component of their community health experience.
Students will apply knowledge and skills from nursing and public health sciences to expand their understanding of caring for a community’s health.

Importance and content of the mother and newborn health.
Mother and newborn health and problems in the world and Turkey.
Health service and the position of midwife.
Giving the Health service of mother and newborn through the Primary Health Service.

DESCRİPTİON:
Objectives :This course aims to the use of critical thinking and caring as a foundation for the midwifery in Women’s Health and Diseases,alterations in reproductive health. The student will function as a member within the discipline of midwifery, as a provider/manager of care and promoter of health and well being.
Learning Outcomes:
Provide, manage, and direct care for women with alterations in reproductive health in a
safe, caring environment.
Apply various techniques to promote health and to assess for alterations in women's
reproductive health.
Utilize a health teaching plan individualized to the educational needs to facilitate coping
of the woman experiencing an alteration in reproductive health.
Utilize critical thinking skills to promote, maintain, and restore the health of the woman
experiencing an alteration in reproductive health.
Evaluate midwifery interventions for clients experiencing an alteration in women's health in
attaining health promotion and maintenance.
As a member within the discipline of midwifery, collaborate with the health care team to
facilitate integrated client care.

Women’s health care, cancer of reproductive system, diagnosis and treatment at gynecology.
